  • Wow! That's big news. Smart though, taking the time to work on her channel. That has got to be a lot of work and if you want something done right you got to take the time to do it.

  • How, seriously, is it such big news that she's quitting the talk show in ALMOST TWO YEARS??? Gimme a break. :/
  • Does trendrr give the number of unique tweets or just the total number of tweets? Seems to me that twitter trends could easily be affected by very few users who just keep talking to each other.
  • This big news, but it would bound to happen. It's time for a change. 25 years is a really long time! And I'm sure she eager to spend her time in more influential ways! Looking forward to it!

    Oprah is not going anywhere...her show is too small for her. I see it as Oprah giving herself a promotion! Great Move O!
  • oprah is gone--that's too bad. she didn't really stand for much anyway. whatever Oprah says most people bow down to her will and thoughts and worship her at the thought of becoming famous but once Oprah gives a favorable word the whole world listens as if she were God himself speaking. she was just another Undercover Christian anyway-a real imposter of the faith. check out the story of people like that and my future Undercover Christian series at www.todaystruthwriter.com under post for 11/06/09

    I wonder if the magazine will end as well?

    It's hard to not love and be inspired by Oprah. I even forgive her for Jenny McCarthy (their hearts were in the right place.) If Oprah agreed to run for President in 2016 she would likely win. Whatever she does she will be force for good. She deserves to have more free time and to enjoy all she has built.

  • Excuse me this is OLD NEWS! This has been known ever since Oprah signed the deal to start
    her OWN channel. It was written about 6 months ago that she was still under contract and
    could not move her show to OWN until the contract runs out sometime in 2010. So this is not
    new news. twitter did not hijack something. Oprah is moving to OWN as soon as she is able to
    legally do so. Stop trying to make social media something it isn't.
  • This is old news. She said over 1-2 years ago she would stop her talk show when she hit the 25 year mark. She mentioned this in the early discussion of her creating OWN (The Oprah Winfrey Network). Unless, UR mentioning the deal she and partners Carsey-Warner cut with Universal, that might be newsworthy. Article is nothing more than media hype, sorry. Yes, Oprah is a great marketing tool for businesses, hence the Oprah Effect Video on imdb/hulu.

    If I'm missing the newsworthiness in this piece, please explain it to me. No offense.
